You can do 3 barrage spells with 1 set of barrage runes (6 water, 4 death, 2 bloods).
I only tried it by manual use, so no autocast.

Staves do preserve runes since quite a while already. Staff magic requirement level / 2 is the chance of preserving runes.

I was wearing rod of ivandis, so this means lvl 80/2 = 40% chance of preserving runes?
