You will keep the most expensive items. However, due to the items value being based on their high alch value, the untradeable items don't get prioritized as expensive items because simply untradeables don't have any high alching values. That's why the manta ray is protected whilst the salve amulet is not.

If you don't want to get involved in any PvP interaction that could lead to your death you are not forced to be there in the first place. I understand your concern about working hard and spending a lot of time achieving items but it is as simple as that. There will always be a risk when roaming in the wilderness. You either take it to get what you want or leave that risk behind.

Overall sounds like a cool idea with a new tier of armour equipment and weapons but how would the player obtain them? Source of obtaining the items?
Through a new boss? If so which one? new minigame shop?

I think this could be a great opportunity to consider releasing raids? a new aspect of pvming/bossing. It's a game mode series that introduces different waves with unique bosses in each wave and a group of 4 players can participate at the same time. The key is to work together as a team where every member has a role. If someone dies during the raid he/she don't have the right to continue but can spectate others who are in the same lobby. This new tier armour could be added as a reward to this raid system perhaps? Aiming towards new high-end game content? If this happens to get introduced and shows up to be a success we could potentially add more new tiers of weaponary and equipment in the future as part of raid rewards. Thoughts?

No thanks, why give spirit shield effect to something that's suppose to have more str bonus than the shield?

It doesn't need to have a special effect but could have a passive effect when used in Pvming. For example a small damage reduction or vice versa, a slightly increased damage when used against demon bosses. That's just one example, I am sure there are other unique twists you can give it.
Defenders sacrifice defense bonuses for pure offensive bonuses, they shouldn’t really give any sort of defense IMO as that’s the point of using one over something like an Arcane.

You could base a special ability for it off of the orb perhaps. Something that boosts your strength bonus but maybe decreases your accuracy for a short time, or along those lines if you feel it really needs an ability.
That's possible as well. The main idea afterall is to introduce a new tier defender superior to the dragon defender and it should be somewhat interesting to acquire at the same time. Additionaly, the combining idea could potentially add a new tab to the slayer shop too which i mentioned it's purpose in the topic itself.

List of suggestions

  • New best in slot capes from jad minigame, you can offer players to take fire cape after killing jad or the option to continue further into waves and add more waves which increase in difficulty just like previous waves. Could start off the next wave like jad plus the first wave npc and so on with the last wave being two jads to defeat
I think Thomy mentioned already in the latest update note that he will be developing 3 new capes as part of a new single minigame, klin.

Besides that I think some more activity in the wilderness could be interesting and I agree with the idea of the roaming npcs.
Speaking of wildy activity, maybe add a new boss with minions that appear in the wilderness every now and then, stronger than kolodion with better drops?

Or make use of the unlit beacons scattered around the map. Basically, every couple of hours they would become lit at random times and a message appears to everyone telling that you can use them as a bonfire. Additionaly, there is that wooden chest nearby the beacon. I am thinking maybe the player could use it as a storage unit for logs or something that can extend the fire duration?
We also have one in the frosty part of the wilderness, so if someone wants that extra xp he/she can ;)

I don't think Magic necessarily needs to be buffed offensive-wise. I rather discuss the spell effects instead of just pumping more damage into it. The ancient spellbook seems fine imo, barrages bring great utility for many different scenarios. The lunar spellbook offers the Vengeance spell and also allows you to auto-cast offensive spells from the nomal spellbook. What I could see changed is adding a new tier of offensive spells to the normal spellbook: for levels 80-95 Magic with similar strength as compared to Ice barrage.

Regarding Ranged: How is it op? Tankiness? Isn't this only about bolts being so strong that you can stack a lot of defence bonuses while holding a crossbow and shield? Could a reduction in the combat power of bolts solve that problem? Or a reduction on the proc chance of enchanted bolts?

The idea of a new tier of spells added seems like a reasonable update for magic.

In my opinion magic isn't very good at this current state. Using it puts you in a huge disadvantage in comparison to other combat styles. You can easily hit 60's+ with melee and ranged meanwhile with magic you struggle to even reach 50's. I think magic overall needs a buff, whether it's the spells, magic weapons or armour. Something has to be done so it can compete with other combat styles and be more used and useful both in PvP and Pvming scenarious.

Thoughts?
Magic has its own purposes, therefore its already dominating with ice crown and ahrim set effects. If you were to utilize items in proper way everything would turn into op items fast. It's good as it is. Saw players hitting 30s through protect multiple times. Not like it is bad enough without it 50s. Plus you get freezed or teleblock big time if you are not careful with prayers in this situation. It's way better to nerf ranged too then as it can hit 90s in slayer task or melee doing massive damage with PvP sets. Don't disregard anything, those are ING actually. PvP is good as it is slight nerf to certain items/things would do just right but not whole system.
I am speaking of magic as an overall combat style, not only the magic used in PvP situations. It's clear that it needs a buff as of now. Barely used or seen in Pvming/bossing. Melee and ranged shouldn't be the only way to go when magic is there. On the other hand, there is no need to make whole system changes but some buffs would do for magic.
