I don't think adding crystals to a reward from a minigame is a good idea at all.
I personally think that adding items that can be added to existing items to make them better to minigame reward shops is a great idea. I believe the highest tier weapons and their potential upgrades should still only be obtainable from bosses though (this way it actually is somewhat of a challenge instead of a grind). But there certainly is room for upgrades to lower, medium and high tier weapons/armour. They don't even have to be limited to stat increasing upgrades. Perhaps upgrades to increase their effectiveness when slaying or bossing is a good idea? Like I said before there is a lot of room for these kind of things and coming up with interesting and useful item upgrades shouldn't be too difficult. I really do think this is a nice way to create variety and specialized equipment.
Through the wide spectrum I see what you are coming from. I was so narrowed down on the crystal idea that he was talking about that I didn't keep an open mind going forward.
For you clarification and explanation I see how it could be a good addition to the game adding in new items that are UNTRADEABLE.
I think making them untradeable, like Ryheem said is a key point.

Strykewyrms and Bronze/Iron/Steel dragons are probably the best monsters to kill to get extra loot while also trying to get those 'rare' loots.

That's true, I never do Bronze/Iron/Steel dragons tho..
I did them when I first returned months back so I could get a Hasta.
FYI; I killed 32 Strykewyrms today after getting my range amulet and I got a stead drop :P

I had probably killed over 2k before I got my first, know the struggle. Once you get your first though, you'll roll in 'em soon.
I give up on them, never going back. I just wanted to get my range amulet on my own since I was jumped at chaos ele the other day and lost that along with a lot other good items (glaivens, z bow, 2 z arrows, and full arma).

Dit big grind for big bonk.
Dat 10m loot though ::)

There's Edgeville teleports that you can buy in the EP shop for 1 event point. (Talk to Bolkoy; found in the southern corner of the GE)
Yes it's hard to get EP right now, but Thomy is working on a way to get EP for doing a daily task.

Just make it so the max players you can have in a game is 10, and once the boat is full with 10 those 10 players are sent to the island.
The remaining players, as long as it is 5, can wait for the next game to start in 30 seconds. Make it so more than one game can be run at the same time.
Being able to join the game while one is currently going would be useful, but it could also throw the whole game off because a lot of the time players don't know and/or don't care if that game is 'farming' or not and they're just there for fast games.
Whole lot of work for a potentially increased chance at failing the minigame. This would be a disaster.
I run games with 5-6 players all the time. This doesn't increase or decrease the chance of failing the minigame at all.
I prefer running games with lower players anyways, much more smooth forward going and people actually understand when I explain how to 'farm'.
The more people the easier it is to kill the portal which makes it easier to "fail" the game when players are trying to farm.
The less people means the less people you have to protect the void from dying, which also makes it easier to fail them game. This is the only way I see it 'failing'
Adding in another island for more than one game to run at a time doesn't add any extra scarce of failing the game, just allows players to be able to enter games quicker as they won't have to wait minutes for one game to end because the current game running is farming.
We would be failing by not implementing this which would be allowing players to go in and out of games quicker which would could potentially make the game more popular because you don't have to stand in a boat for 5 minutes waiting for a game to start or you don't have to go through a game in 2 minutes getting 75 tokens because the people you're playing with don't know how to farm.
