Depression is not a laughing matter, I've dealt with many people with depression and I can say it's a very serious issue. Depression usually makes people think that they're not wanted or nobody loves them, but they're are many other ways depression can enter an individuals life. My best advice to anyone that feels this way would be just try to be positive every day no matter what is going on with your life and remember there's always someone their that really loves you and wouldn't want to see you go through this alone. Trust me, there are many people out their that would absolutely love to help you. With that being said, I'm going to agree with Ravioli's point here. People usually play games to take their minds off real world problems and just want to sit back and enjoy their time with their online buddies. This does not mean in anyway that we're ignoring this thread, and we all hope that for anyone that feels this way that you find the help you deserve and there is absolutely nothing more that we want other than a smile on your face.

I will be locking this thread due to the fact that most replies on here were meant to bash on certain community members, we absolutely don't tolerate this type of behavior. This may be jokes between friends, but keep in mind sometimes others simply don't take it the same way you do.

We are doing fine with our player count, RS Private Servers are already dead, and this one is doing fine compared to others.

Quite false actually. Emps-Scape used to be one of the most popular servers back in the day. As of right now I think it's safe to say it's below average.





These are just some of the examples of the servers out there right now; Note I had to browse quite a lot as I couldn't get the player count from many of them without logging in which I couldn't be arsed to do. These pictures are legit and just taken right now. If you don't believe it, I can give out the names/links although I highly doubt that's allowed around here; would make sense not to be which is why I took just pictures of the counts.

Point being that there are many servers out there with several hundreds of players online; Emps used to be amongst those servers back in the day however as of right now, as I'm writing this reply there are only 24 players online. Now I know that it's night time and hardly anyone is online at this time however I've seen it at its peak as well - a bit over a hundred was the peak in a long time and that was only after the release of Nex and I believe it dropped down again after some time.

I'm not here to bash the server or anything, just trying to convince you people to try some new strategies, new approaches. You'll have to come up with them yourself - it shouldn't be too hard though with all the "competition" out there that you could be mimicing in one way or another. There are actual PI servers (The base that was released back in like '06) that are doing better than Emps at the moment.
In case anyone's wondering why I left - It's simple. The graphics, as much as I appreciate the effort that went into building this client to the state it is, it just throws off for me. I can never get used to these graphics unfortunately, the problem being that it's too different from RSPS in general. I don't get the true RSPS feel when I play Emps (or played.. for a bit some time ago). Should have just stuck to updating server side stuff and kept client the way it is, I'm fairly certain Emps would be at a better place right now.

That's true, however that won't change the fact that he'll be able to do some strange things ing,
last time we had to deal with an edited client a lot of annoying things happened.

I don't know how far this dude can go or what is he trying to do, it seems to me he is trying to find a way to decrypt the passwords.
something looks a bit hard, however I am sure with some editing to the source code he has such thing will be possible if he attempt to login to an account with any password to apply the change.

No. People can always modify game code and try to come up with modifications. However the server validates and checks if a request is valid. Even if somebody sent a request to withdraw 20M ags from their bank, the server would deny it.

Passwords are safely hashed with bcrypt (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bcrypt), which is a one-directional transformation. If you login to the site or game, your password is encrypted (site: HTTPS, game: plain RSA), hashed and compared with the value that's in the database. If there is an exact match, the login is granted. Even if you asked me what your password is... I couldn't tell, because I'd have to brute-force it (trying out all combinations). The reason nobody brute-forces such passwords is the complexity of the problem. Besides... the site would lock you out for some time for spamming logins. It would take years to decrypt a set of passwords, which simply isn't worth the time and thus the system is considered safe.

You fools created the supposed "problem" with bank space all by yourselves and then begged Thomy to add more instead of dropping all that useless junk that you're never going to use.
