Nomad


Stats: (only mentioning the most relevant stats, other stats are irrelevant in this concept)

1200 Hitpoints
Attack speed: 4 ticks
Attack style: all


Small introduction, main drops and location.

Nomad will be a solo boss. He cannot be killed with a group. All fights are instanced (similar to Jad). Nomad could be placed to his rightful place in his Throne Room where the fight takes place over on Runescape as well.
Main drop that Nomad would drop is a prayer scroll. This scroll can be used to unlock a new prayer. These prayers are turmoil (melee), anguish (range) and torment (magic). Possibly soul split as well. (lifesteal overhead prayer)

This scroll is also tradeable. Once you have the scroll you will have 3 (or 4) options and you can choose any of the prayers you want.
These prayers would be "berserker" prayers. Having the prayer on will boost your melee, range or mage strength BUT will reduce you defense by a lot. I feel like sacrificing defense would make these prayers balanced and would bring higher risk high reward feeling. You can hit high but you can also die fast because your defense is reduced greatly. I don't know how big the strength boost could be or how much would your defense be reduced.

Soul split: this prayer will simply heal you as you deal damage. Heal could be 5% from the damage dealt. (Hitting 30 would heal 1,5 hitpoints)

There could even be a small quest involved. Completing the quest will unlock the boss fight and the whole Zaros prayer book. Just those 4 prayers would be behind a scroll that's obtained as a drop from Nomad or bought from other players.


Mechanics and the fight:

Nomad will have static mechanics meaning you can predict and know what's coming next so you're able to prepare and counter the mechanics.
This is different from Nex for example where her mechanics are random but give you a small time window to prepare.

At the start Nomad will start with auto attacks (attacks with range and melee) and his special occur every 10 auto attacks which is 4 ticks per attack.
First special that happens Nomad will spawn 4 - 5 mines around him. After a few seconds these will explode in 3x3 area. This can be countered by simply moving out of the range.

Second special that occurs Nomad will use a strong ice barrage and freezes you. He will then spawn a few clones of himself that will all do full damage but attacking the clone once makes it disappear.
This can be countered by attacking the clones. Ice barrages damage can be reduced by switching to mage protect.

*10 auto attacks*

This special Nomad will have 2 things. First Nomad casts a strong ice barrage which freezes you and this can also hit rather high. Can be countered/get damage reduced by switching to mage protect.
Second part while you're frozen Nomad starts channeling for 12 ticks (6 seconds) and once over he will hit 90% of your max hitpoints.
This can be countered by using spirit shields active. I don't know how chaotic shield's freedom ability and moving would act like here.

*10 auto attacks*

Repeat from start. Starts with the mine special again.

Once Nomad hits 200 hitpoints he will not do any of those mechanics anymore. Instead Nomad will start attacking you rapidly with melee only.
His attack will not deal much damage but he will hit once a tick so every 0,5 seconds. His attacks are very accurate but don't hit much.
This mechanic can be countered/made easier by saving your special attack and use them here to deal as much damage as fast as possible.

Wilderness raids would be a new world event (similar to Kolodion & stars) that take place in wilderness as the name suggests.
This would occur once every 2 hours. These raids would appear in certain castle/fortress alike areas which are Dark Knight's fortress, Bandit camp, Rogue's castle and Lava maze. Only 1 location at a time which is random.

Wilderness raid would consist of ~10 NPCs with similar AI as Thomy NPC. These would be custom NPCs with actual gear from the game, attack you back and be aggresive, eat food.

Their combat level and gear would vary randomly from what level 80s would wear and what would a level 126 player wear.
OR
Combat level and gear of these raid NPCs would depend on the location where the raid appeared. Low level wilderness (Black Knight's fortress, Bandit camp) would have lower level ones while Rogue's castle and Lava maze would have higher level ones with better gear due to their location.

How rewards would work is they would drop wilderness keys (higher level the npc -> higher drop chance of wilderness key) and you would use these keys to a chest to claim your loot.
As for the location and rewards I do not really have anything to suggest. Location however could be along with the raid areas. A new chest would be added to all 4 locations or just 1 chest added to Edgeville you use to claim loot.

Hey guys,

Todays update contains mainly bugfixes and QoL changes. I've also worked on improving Duel Arena's staking system and how the whole thing is handled.

Duel Arena changes


I wasn't happy how Duel Arena is always bugged and players keep hitting a lot of 0s and how people always get cleaned. My goal is to change
this and have prepared a fix how our players can hold their wealth for a longer time period. Duel Arena has also received some QoL changes.
  • You can now take loans from Duel Arena banker.
  • Duel Arena's name was changed to Sand Casino.
  • Minium hit at Sand Casino is now 7. 7 Being the lucky number.
  • I've moved our servers to Dubai. This way our players from middle east has a connection advantage at Sand Casino.
  • FPS rate at Sand Casino is capped at 3. This way you're constantly lagging and can hold your wealth much longer. This means if your FPS was 60 before this change you will hold your wealth now 20x longer.
  • Spamming bunny hop emote at Sand Casino will now double your damage.
  • Arab luck was buffed. You now get +10% chance of winning when you connect from Middle Eastern area.

Bugfixes & changes

I've worked really hard to improve the game overall and fixed a lot of bugs recently! Main goal is to make the game more enjoyable for everyone.
  • Charr now has 250m slayer experience
  • Due to a database error everyone's stats were reset
  • Bob's name was reverted. He's now called Bob.
  • West Ardougne casino is now open.
  • Graham was added back to staff list. This was a bug and is now fixed
  • Yk'Lagor is now called Igor.
  • Drugs is now an administrator
  • Wilderness seemed a bit dead. Added bots to Wilderness with similar AI as Thomy NPC near Crating Guild.
  • You can now get banned for smuggling vodka from Karamja.
  • ::plzfreeags No longer works
  • Joshiee's year book is now burnt.
  • White and black knights are now called Knights because this was slightly racist before.
  • Volvo.
  • You now have 10 ring slots. Makes sense with 10 fingers.
  • Jonneh is codeing Emps again.
  • You can now mine 'perfect' gold ores and smelt them to 'perfect' gold bars.
  • Humid is no longer suk.
  • J H A M now correctly wears d butz.

Same as regular ironman mode except you have 1 life. GA tickets are disabled except for the one you get from tutorial island. When you die you'll be a regular ironman, safe deaths are safe meaning you won't lose status in duel arena, jad minigame etc...
Initial ironman mode release was pretty hype and I'd imagine this one would be as well.

Purpose behind this idea is to make double xp system as a whole more expandable feature and have more options in the future.
Double xp could be used as a reward from voting (if it's ever re-introduced), reward from something community releated (i.e "well of goodwill" -> deposit gp and once a certain milestone is reached double xp can be turned on for some time -> gold sink!) etc... whatever comes to your mind.

My idea would be to completely remove double xp scrolls from the donator shop and introduce "bonus xp scrolls" to replace them. Would have to introduce the whole bonus xp system as well.
They still function the same but they are far more "casual" user friendly, might even become more overpowered than the current scrolls. If they're changed to function like this you wouldn't be "time locked" anymore. You can go do something else if you get bored instead of being forced to sit one hour straight at your computer. You wouldn't feel bad if you accidentally waste half of your dxp scroll or suddenly need to leave and end up wasting the whole scroll.

How do bonus xp scrolls work?
Simple: Pick a skill you want to get bonus xp in and once chosen you'll consume the scroll granting you an x amount of bonus xp in that skill.
I.e You pick agility to put your bonus xp into and then you would get 300k bonus xp in agility skill. For the next 300k xp your agility xp is doubled. (Example amounts)

What this would also mean is that you would be able to store bonus xp in a skill, consume 10 scrolls and put all the bonus xp into a single skill and gain 3m bonus xp in that skill. (Or multiple)
Of course you would be able to only consume 1 scroll at once so you don't accidentally consume the whole stack in a single skill.

Thoughts? Questions? Yay or nay? And why?

Shield rework and changes

Taunting/voking and new active effects

Honestly saying most people prefer damage over defenses just because they want to do the most damage as possible. Defense as a combat style doesn't have any mechanics to it either.
Second reason for the suggestion is the recently released team bosses (Nex and Har'Lakk) and there's more planned. My suggestion would introduce 'tank role' to team bossing. It also creates more fun to team bossing I guess.

Almost every shield (all +70 tier?) would get a new button to attack style interface that you can press to "taunt" your target to attack you. This would have a cooldown to it and it's shared with all shields so you can't switch other shield to do it again. For the taunts and cooldown duration I don't really have any balanced idea.

New shield effects would have their own cooldown from the taunt special so it can be used together with the shield effects for a nice combo. There are actived by pressing the 'operate' option when right clicking shields in the equipment interface.
Currently there's the invulnerability effect in spirit shields and dragonfire shield has its dragon breath special attack. They can and should definitely stay the way they are currently.
  • Ice shields special effect could be reflective damage. Next attack you receive will do x% damage back as damage over time in x amount of seconds to your target.
  • 3rd age shields special effect would be some kind of heal effect. Next attack you receive will heal instead of damage you.
  • For crystal shield I was thinking some kind of reduced damage. Reduces damage taken by x% for x amount of seconds.
  • Eva's shield (explained below) could have the same special as ice shield.
  • Dragon defender doesn't need any special effects.

Here's all the popular and high level shields and their stats:



Notes and suggestions:
  • Spirit shields lack a lot of defensive bonuses compared to other shields which needs a buff in my opinion. They're tier 75 shields which offer the highest offensive bonus from shields as well though. (Excluding dragon defender)
  • Ice shield is relatively easy shield to get and offers some very nice defensive bonus. I suggest turning it to DPS shield however, magic will have its defensive shield (ely) if all spirit shields get their defenses increased.
  • Spectral especially needs quite a buff to its defensive stats in my opinion. Health buff seems very meh to me personally. Crystal shield has over double its defenses.
  • 3Rd age shield works nicely as a defensive shield while offering a small offensive bonus in both categories as well so it's in fine state I guess. Same goes for the rest of the shields as well.
  • Crystal shield has negative offensive bonus so that kind of pays off the very high defensive bonuses it provides.
  • Dragonfire shield is in good state in my opinion as well, easy to get, medium level defenses and some offensive stats.

Eva's shield



This new shield would work as a DPS range shield since range does not have its own DPS off-hand variant. Range has defensive shield which is divine and two hybrid shields which are crystal and spectral. This shield would fill in the gap nicely in my opinion.
It would be a drop from Commander Zilyana and it would be tier 75 shield. For specific stats I don't have anything to suggest but since it's a dps shield; lower defensive bonus -> higher offensive wise.

Not sure if any of these should work in wilderness.
