Humanitary problems take a long time to fix. Let's take slavery as an example. According to the wikipedia article linked below, it's taken the human species millenia to abolish slavery. The problem may not even be completely fixed, but it's at the very least come to an acceptable state. I'm quite sure the immigration/refugees problem will eventually be fixed as well. That people don't have the patience for it and can't look further than their nose is long is quite understandable, but that doesn't mean it can't be fixed.
