Suggestions & Ideas / Granite maul is overpowered
« on: January 19, 2015, 09:27:14 pm »
Yeah so since even level 85 accounts can hit 50 with this bad boy I think it's way too strong. A potential maximum damage of 150 with almost no time to react (eat food) seems way too overpowered. Runescape combatted this with combo food and pheonix necklaces, something emps doesnt have.

Resolved Bug Reports / Regarding the entangle bug report
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:06:07 pm »
I am talking about this one -> http://emps-world.net/forum/index.php?topic=5822.0

I have something to add to the list of frustrations. I don't know why you did this but you obviously decreeased the range of magic and ranged. You now need to be much closer to your opponent to attack them. Is this a bad thing? In most situations I would say no, except for one.

It is really annoying when you are pking in deep widlerness or you teleblocked someone and they are trying to escape. Basically what will happen is this: as soon as they get unfrozen, they will start running away. You first have to wait for the cooldown to end before you attempt to freeze them again. However if you splash you stop moving whilst they are still running away. This gives you pretty much only get 1 or 2 chance(s) to re freeze them or they will be out of range forever (if they keep running). This, together with the buggy movement system, makes solo tb+bind pking pretty much impossible atm.

Resolved Bug Reports / Slowmotion running
« on: January 13, 2015, 09:28:08 pm »
Well sometimes I have the feeling I'm inside the matrix because my character does everything in slowmotion. It's very annoying especially when you're trying to make a video.

So I recently tried deep wilderness pking with TB and bind and all that crap. And apart from the usual frustrations such as getting stuck behind every freaking obstacle, randomly stopping moving and having to be withing like 5 steps of someone to attack, I came across this ridiculous feature that just blew my mind. Why the fuck do I have to wait for my target to load the damn game before I can attack him or her?! I tried binding someone from far away but then this message popped up and I didn't even run towards my target which ended up in his escape. If people can't load the game fast enough why do I have to be punished for that. Seriously it's utter bullshit.

Suggestions & Ideas / Combat balance on accounts with low defense.
« on: January 12, 2015, 09:53:23 pm »
Range is OP on pures.

Now since most of you are most likely unfamiliar with pking, let me briefly explain why.

A very common pure build is the 50 or 60 attack pure. It maxes out every other combat skill and it's combat level varies from 75-83. With this comes a big limitation; you can only use weapons up to dragon (or worse). There are 3 viable melee weapons: dragon scimitar, dragon dagger, granite maul. (yes pures have acces to the pvp weapons too but I won't mention those since it doesn't really change the situation) Now the dragon scimitar isnt a very powerful weapon. In the hands of one of these pures it can hit approximately 38. I'm obviously not taking into account the max strength bonus for pures because very few players are willing to pk with that. Now let's talk about range. Since these pures can have 99 range as well they have acces to the most powerful bow, the zamorak bow. Using this bow pures can hit approximately 38 as well. Again not taking into account max range strength. Semms balanced right? Well it would be if both weapons had the same attack speed, but they don't. Bows hit quite a bit faster, thus the bow easiliy outdamages the scimitar. And range has another advantage over melee in general; you can attack from a distance. Now let's cut back to the other weapons: the dragon dagger and granite maul. These weapons can be very powerful but are only viable when using the special attack. A dragon dagger can hit 60's in a welfare set-up and the granite maul can hit even higher, up to 90. But the problem is, these weapons can only do that when using the special attack, whilst the zamorak bow can hit frequent high hits all the time. It even has a special effect dealing some extra damage every now and then. And pures have acces to a very powerful range special attack too, the dark bow. The dark bow can hit up to 70 and is very accurate.

My point is: range outclasses melee by a lot when it comes to doing damage without the use of a special attack on mid level pures.

How to fix this? I have no clue.

Suggestions & Ideas / About the spectral energy.
« on: December 14, 2014, 05:14:18 pm »
Hello folks,

even though I no longer play the game I recently read about the update and I noticed a potential flaw. In my eyes the point of adding the new armors is to provide strong (possibly the best) armor but at a cost. You would have to buy the item for a high price and watch it degrade to dust over time. However the spectral energy changes this. First of all let me say that it is a good thing that players you kill and lose their armor drop the energy. This will give you a high reward (assuming the armour turns to dust when lost in pvp). You can then use it to repair your own armor or sell it (not sure about what I think of it being tradeable yet).

However when the energy is also dropped by the npc's there will be a much larger amount of it in game. This will result into it begin relatively cheap and easy to get. It will also lower the prices of the armors, since it is much easier to repair it now less armors will degrade to dust resulting in more armors in game thus lowering the price.

I think it would be much better when the energy is only dropped by players who lose their armor! This way the armors will be expensive and harder to repair. I don't know how I feel about the energy being tradeable. When it is people with lots of money can buy and use as many armors pieces as they like (also for training etc). When it isn't the people who kill players with armor on will have a way to repair their own armor. Since they probably are good player killers they will use it, however players who don't use the armor won't have any use for the energy they just got.

Feel free to share your opinions about this suggestion.

So I just bought one of these capes for a whopping 1.9k tokens and I came to the conclusion they are inferior to a skillcape. There is literally no benefit to use these capes over a skillcape (except for the +1 bonus is all attack styles, but this is pretty much neglectable), making it dead content once a player has mastered a skill. (which isn't very difficult to achieve)

I therefore suggest to either change the stats of the capes, or lower their prices.

The stat changes should make it an unique cape which benefits the player in certain situations, whilst not making skillcapes useless. My suggestion is to give it a significant enough prayer bonus to use it instead of a skillcape when prayer is a deciding factor. Skillcapes give a +6 prayer bonus, so a +8 or higher bonus should do the job. (in the old version of runescape these capes had a +12 prayer bonus) In addition to the prayer bonus they could also give a small defense bonus in all styles, however I think this might make it a little bit too strong.

My second suggestion is to lower the price significantly to make it a cape low level players can buy with little effort. It will then serve as a better version of the legends cape/obsidian cape which are very easy to get. A price of 500ish tokens should make it harder to achieve than one of the previously mentioned capes, but still easy enough to make it a desirable item.

I personally am a big fan of my first suggestion, but the second one will also be a nice change.

Thank you for reading.
