Many thanks for the probability illustration and explanations. I think it shows really well why the system shouldn't be changed and how it works. Increasing drop rates will just shift the curve towards drops being more common.

You guys have literally no idea how probability math works and you're still complaining about it.

0,5% (= 1/200) of getting loot means that ON AVERAGE you will receive A SINGLE drop every 200 kills. You can go above and beyond that. It is NEVER guaranteed to get a drop within 200 kills. For example, if you throw a 6-sided dice you have 1/6 of landing on a six. However, you can easily go over ten throws ''dry'' on a six. You are never guaranteed to land on a six. You will always have a higher probability of rolling any number between one and five than rolling a six.

Nex drops work like a 200-sided dice. One of those sides is an armor drop, and the other 199 sides are the regular drops. You can calculate the probability of getting a drop in 200 kills like this:

p(reg.loot) = probability of getting a regular drop
num.of.kills = the number of kills you want to calculate the probability for

You only have 63,3% chance of getting a drop withing 200 kills. The function converges to P = 1, meaning that the probability gets closer to 1 a.k.a. 100% but it will never reach it since you are never guaranteed to get a single drop. We can even plot the function into a graph to show that.



The graph gets extremely close to 1 but never reaches it. X-axis shows the number of kills.

I doubt Alugis went over 200 kills dry on every single drop of his, but neither of you want to admit it because it would weaken the ''point'' you're trying to make.

Also your previous kills don't affect the drop rate at all, if you have already got 200 kills with no drops then the likelihood of getting a drop is still 1/200, even if you've got 2,000 kills with no drops then the likelihood of you getting the drop before 2,200th kill is still 63.3%. Just wanted to clarify that you're always at the far-left side of the graph.
If you don't understand how the drop rate could be true if that's the case then how it works is that with a very large amount of kills you should expect your drop rate to get close to 1/200, not because drops become more common after a dry streak or less common after you've gotten multiple rare drops in a row, but because eventually the luck you had in the beginning will become statistically insignificant. So even if your first kills were very lucky and you got 10 1/200 drops in your first 200 kills giving you a drop rate of 10/200, then by the time you're at 10,000 kills even if you've gotten 60 more of those drops in that time which is still more than 1/200, your drop rate would've become 1.4/200 and even if you continued being luckier than expected then by the time you get to 100,000 kills your drop rate would likely have gotten even closer to 1/200. The same is true if you're very unlucky and you get only 3 drops in the first 2,000 kills, giving you a drop rate of only 0.3/200, by the time you get to 10,000 or 100,000 kills even if you continue being more unlucky than expected your drop rate would likely get closer to 1/200, because the last 8,000 kills or 98,000 kills outweigh the first 2,000 kills, making whatever luck you had or didn't have in the beginning insignificant.

Hey guys,

Todays update contains mainly bugfixes and QoL changes. I've also worked on improving Duel Arena's staking system and how the whole thing is handled.

Duel Arena changes


I wasn't happy how Duel Arena is always bugged and players keep hitting a lot of 0s and how people always get cleaned. My goal is to change
this and have prepared a fix how our players can hold their wealth for a longer time period. Duel Arena has also received some QoL changes.
  • You can now take loans from Duel Arena banker.
  • Duel Arena's name was changed to Sand Casino.
  • Minium hit at Sand Casino is now 7. 7 Being the lucky number.
  • I've moved our servers to Dubai. This way our players from middle east has a connection advantage at Sand Casino.
  • FPS rate at Sand Casino is capped at 3. This way you're constantly lagging and can hold your wealth much longer. This means if your FPS was 60 before this change you will hold your wealth now 20x longer.
  • Spamming bunny hop emote at Sand Casino will now double your damage.
  • Arab luck was buffed. You now get +10% chance of winning when you connect from Middle Eastern area.

Bugfixes & changes

I've worked really hard to improve the game overall and fixed a lot of bugs recently! Main goal is to make the game more enjoyable for everyone.
  • Charr now has 250m slayer experience
  • Due to a database error everyone's stats were reset
  • Bob's name was reverted. He's now called Bob.
  • West Ardougne casino is now open.
  • Graham was added back to staff list. This was a bug and is now fixed
  • Yk'Lagor is now called Igor.
  • Drugs is now an administrator
  • Wilderness seemed a bit dead. Added bots to Wilderness with similar AI as Thomy NPC near Crating Guild.
  • You can now get banned for smuggling vodka from Karamja.
  • ::plzfreeags No longer works
  • Joshiee's year book is now burnt.
  • White and black knights are now called Knights because this was slightly racist before.
  • Volvo.
  • You now have 10 ring slots. Makes sense with 10 fingers.
  • Jonneh is codeing Emps again.
  • You can now mine 'perfect' gold ores and smelt them to 'perfect' gold bars.
  • Humid is no longer suk.
  • J H A M now correctly wears d butz.

This is mage-only, cost-effective new barrows guide.


Requirements:

- 94 Magic
- 80 defence
- 40 prayer (the higher it is, the better. 70 prayer would be optimal)
- 90+ hitpoints
- 10m starting money

Gear/Inventory:

Personally, I find this setup quite cheap and good.

Full ahrims works wonders at barrows because of it's spell-effect boost ability. Blood barrage heals more and freezes last for longer. You could go with more expensive options, but I'd stick with Ahrims, since this guide uses mainly blood barrage.

I took a skillcape over something else because it's extremely cheap (99k or so ), gives you prayer and attack bonuses. Salve amulet is a must at barrows.

I'm wearing a seers ring imbued, but it could be easily swapped with a regular seers ring or a ring of stone. I'm just using it because I have it.

Now about the inventory: Make sure you have over 1k of blood runes or death runes just in case you get unlucky. You're going to get all your runes back from the barrows chest (or not if you get extremely unlucky), and most likely even get more runes. The reason why I brought law runes is because you can use them to instantly teleport to canifis without having to walk to falador.

The fights:



As an autocast, use blood barrage.
If you have some prayer points left, start with Karil and move on to Ahrim, since those are the only two brothers that you'll have to use prayer on. Ahrim can be killed without prayer aswell, but only if you have at least 75+ HP remaining.

The melee brothers is the strength of this setup. You won't need prayer for any of them. After you open the coffin, run around for 2 seconds and then manually cast ice barrage on them and far-cast them with your blood barrage. The fight should look something like this:


If you encounter a catacomb, DO NOT GO INSIDE IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 2 BROTHERS REMAINING! Having more than 2 brothers remaining in the catacombs will be a pain in the ass since you can't really spawn them easily. If you have two or one brother remaining, feel free to enter!

When you're inside the starting room, the three out of four doors will be locked. Right click all of them until you see one that has the open option. The same is with doors to the barrows chest, except that it contains a puzzle. Here are the solutions:


The killcount is extremely quick to get using this setup. Run around in the room with a lot of the monsters, stand in a corner and blood barrage them all. You should get the killcount to 100% in 5-10 casts of blood barrage.
