Being able to choose your own task would go against the core idea of variety and would drastically reduce the variety of creatures players would actually fight.
It could cause over crowding at popular tasks - the tasks that are being repeatedly chosen. Additionally, it could devalue drops of popular monsters as more would be coming into the game. Well, I don't really see any concerns about the current slayer system so I definitely don't agree.

I see nothing horrible in the video he provided, this guy wanted to try new content. I guess it's not that bad sometimes random things sound funny. I just can say that if you could've done it more professionally it'll be awesome, like you're rapping while being in combat, why not to make a rapping video which provides hilarious content about something else?
