Quick update on oldschool Emps-World: I've succeeded in loading the complete oldschool data and am rendering it in the emps engine now:

Is this pretty much how it woud look? I understand that for example the shadows are going to be removed and everything though I expected to have a 317 source server... I'm a bit disappointed.
Personal preference though.
Good to see you getting at it right away, still as dedicated!

I personally think that saradomin and zamorak brews shouldn't increase your max hp. This has been bothering me for a long time yet everyone, including me has gotten used to it. It changes up a lot and makes bridding and NHing specially unenjoyable. Don't think it changes much PVM wise other than guthans and blood barrage being a bit worse. They should still overheal you, though, even zbrew.

You do understand magic is op as it currently is, hitting close to a 60 maxhit with 6 speed spells, that also can be used for stacking? You want to add vengeance to the mix? It was enough to have people running around in 3A (which  at least used to have HIGHEST melee defence in game  ???) and spamming vengeance along with Rod of Invadis. Magic should be a combat style of ''utility'', having abilities such as Ice barrage to freeze and blood barrage to heal up, i'd also like to see a buff to shadow barrage though (prayer drain). The state of magic and it's gear in OsRs is FAR better than here, I really don't know what you meant by that. I think it's maxhit is 40 or 41 with Ice barrage and I feel as if it shouldn't be higher in OSES either, (and in EW aswell lol) the gear would rather improve your accuracy, which you would know, is so useful, if you've ever done hybriding or even used blood barrage on some bosses, etc... The lunar spellbook definitely has to stay, it should also have more working useful spells in it.
I see the same problem with range. In my opinion, range at least used to be the most unbalanced combat style (I'm unaware of the new defence updates). Yet again, range is something that hits like a truck, while also being very luck reliant with Javelins being Extremely inaccurate, yet high maxhit, dragon bolts being able to hit 70+ and such. The main problem I see, is that everything offers range strength bonus - I'd see it being balanced if ONLY items such as the whole armadyl set offering 5-8 range strength bonus. This wouldn't make range underpowered since bolts are actually really strong, though not overpowere, also, a dark bow buff in necessary, if Specs were to be removed in OsEs.

Armor and their bonuses - I still haven't gotten the point of
1) No negative bonuses - would balance out magic taking my previous suggestion about magic into consideration, having negative mage defence on certain melee armors (barrow melee armors, excluding veracs, bandos, rune and dragon, etc...) Having melee armors offer respectively small or huge negative offensive bonuses to magic and ranged (plate armors offering a huge offensive bonus to magic accuracy)
2) All of the gears having overall really good defences against all styles, along with magic having highest melee defence bonuses (Again, i'm unaware of the new update specifically that defence gear had) Yet as it seemed to me, it's still the case.
I hope it's obvious why i'm stating these two things, i'm trying to make the post as short as possible though I'll try to be active and reply again if required. This would also balance out range, if you think my previous suggestion about range was too big of a hit for it.

Untradeables - Ok, I am taking this straight from OSRS but I see this as the best solution. Having to fix your untradeables after death, costing cash. I personally don't see anything wrong with it, only that Minigames might be a bit dead. Opinions?
I personally wouldn't wanna see Elite void, if it was better than regular, and because of it's looks.

Changes with items that i'd like to see:
A staff dropped by the zamorak boss, being best in slot for magic.
Master wand being the second best one, maybe being a misc drop from another boss.
Zamorakian spear being dropped by the zamorak boss, still being 2H and basically without changing it's current form. Exept that I want the old ''swiping'' animation back, that was tight.  ::)
Dragonfire shield and Crystal shield should be two of SOME of the best shields in game, with dfs actually being a  rare item, maybe visage being dropped by KBD at a rate of over 1/5000 and mithril dragons of about 1/7500 or so.
I actually liked the ice crown, I think it should stay.

Zul'rah in my opinion is a definite no-no.

Didn't read the whole topic so prob missed some things but ye

Please don't tell me that you are able to hit 50s with magic on other players. This is way too overpowered.
Magic was not that strong in Emps-Scape (the bug where you hit 50s does not count) and it should not be that strong in OSES either.
I was looking for a max hit of 40-43 with rod of ivandis (strongest magic weapon) and the best magic gear. Since you cannot use any others spells with rod of ivandis, barrage will be weaker as well, because you need to use a different magic weapon with less magic strength bonus.
Ultimately, you should hit in high 30s using barrage spells. To give mages a way to kill their opponent, vengeance should be moved to ancient and even normal spellbook.

The combat triangle we have in Emps-World will not exist in OSES. Thomy mentioned that he would copy the item stats from OSRS.

I like the idea of having bonuses stats for complete sets.
This would work very well on armadyl with range, bandos with strength (bandos boots and bcp would finally outclass fighter torso and dragon boots), and other sets maybe. Good point.
The magic maxhits I spoke of were from world. In a way it was stating the obvious that it shouldn't be the case in Oses.
You can still cast barrage with rod,  it's got +100 accuracy and I think is the best accuracy wise. If Thomy's going to get stats from osrs this has to be balanced however to about +25 or +30.
I'm glad you mentioned this because there are two things that you reminded me of:
Prayers - I hate the fact that you can have different combat style prayers on at the same time (The ones that offer you 15% respectively).  It takes a lot of skill out of the game when it comes to pking. I prefer it how it is in osrs, that you can only have either melee prayers, the range prayer or the magic prayer on at once. (With the defence prayer being an exeption)
Autocasting - switching staves will nullify it. It also makes pvp way too easy, manually clicking a spell is something I personally prefer, as there will be a lot more skill involved.

About dfs, I just don't want them to be a common item, I'd like it to be quite rare.

I didn't mean set bonuses, quite frankly the opposite of it. I hate how in world, if for example you needed to use range you just took best in slots and rolled with it. Say in osrs, often at times people use melee platelegs for defence, even if it's a small trade for a couple bonuses of range accuracy. Or when meleeing, using a ranging body like karils or dhide, when fighting someone who uses magic. I think this was even irrelevant in scape, though correct me if i'm wrong.
In a nutshell i'm trying to say that defence should matter way more. Not only in pvp, where catching someone in robes with melee or range can be deadly, but in Pvm aswell.

Oldschool: That'd be equal to developing a completely new game. However... I could try to load oldschool maps in the current Emps-World client I don't think graphics will change anything though.
I would play the game and become active in the forums if this was the case. Don't know why it matters so much, it's something that completely changes the feel of the game for me, though.

I/other people have suggested this feature but have been "shat on" by some People, it's funny that it comes to Thomys mind now.

The game's nothing without pvp. Half of the wildy if not more is empty, there's much to be done, however with this little people already it's hard to believe if it'll be rejuvinated by any sort of wilderness changes, although I think having at least somewhat of an active wildy is essential.

Skulling is not as much of a hassle as you make it sound. I wouldn't mind this, but it's really not necessary at all.

None of these suggestions would bring players into the wilderness. They only affect people that already pk.
if you keep thinking that way then nothing is going to happen. adding something to skull up is just to make things easier and be in the favor of the pker.
stop thinking negative small details make big difference. If we kept saying no for each and everything rather than adding certain staff that might improve the ideas then remove the suggestion tab.

as you said ''None of these suggestions would bring players into the wilderness'' then we have to keep them in the wilderness. a lot of pkers left and we have to do something b4 others do. Look after the latest update the wilderness had a lot of players back for some time to try the buffed weapons and d scmmy, go to pvp and u can check by yourself.
Tons of small details make a difference bt they also take time to make... time that could be used to real updates. PKing only grows if pkers start behaving and not being salty as...salt :p
dw no one is salty  ;D they only spam SAFER!

And PM you 'ks amk' after killing them and call you a pussy if you don't rematch them for their nonexistent risk. I guess you wouldn't know that because you'd actually need to get a kill.
stop lying no one does that unless you know each other and hate each another. screenshot next time.
all Israel pkers quit and we are now left with LT only
and please learn to ignore or at least use the ignore list
5 different nationalities including Israel, few pictures are from my alts that nobody knew were mine https://imgur.com/a/0ebDL

I do think that by the end of the day it's internet and you should brush it off, but if you spend most of your game-time at wilderness for months at a time it has it's effect on you.
I have talked my fair share of shit when I gave up trying to report same guy every 3 days, or his 20 alts a day but fuck it.

It just is what it is and you have to accept it, but to say that it doesn't exist is stupid.
lol when was this and where you trying to make them swear or what; guys move on please.

It's a well-known fact that even if you're nice in the wilderness people will insult you. You possibly cannot deny that, everybody fucking knows that. As long as those people exists, even if it was just a tiny group, PKing will never become as popular as it was in scape.
Killing them is a fine feeling though   ::)

Anybody got something to say about my reply that was made earlier on? Surpised to see nobody say anything, which kind of makes me sad. I've tried having a lot of influence on the pvp, yet there are things that pkers (as many as there are in the forums) don't know how to relate to, let it be because they dont know about it or they dont have experiance. Imo there has got to be at least 2 staff members who are actual pkers, experianced in not only melee fights, you get my point.  2, because pkers tend to have very different styles. I'm not all that active on forums, though as i've seen, staff members might have a lot more influence in forums. Which leads me to another point, 2 of them also so that unaccaptable changes dont go live.
People arent taking action against the current system - the armor bonuses, magic and the lack of weaponry, is it because they like it or they wont bother to have a word, i don't think it's fine by any means.

I like it, sounds good.
Why the 5% buff on vestas spear damage? Unecessary imo, needs a dmg nerf and an accuracy buff.
Creating a feedback topic later today, thanks for all the changes.
Keep it up!

What exactly would you change here? There's not much to aim for, really.
Rushing is random as hell overall, a bigger problem is raggers/fcers. Pkers that are there to try melee vs melee for their first times wont have a fun time when they get fced randomly. Yet again, not much to change here.

Not sure why Pat attacked only me in wildy several moments ago, when all people got kolodion near Zamorak mage in multi killed it, and then nobody rushes anybody but somehow turns out, that Pat kills me for no reason yet again. Neither I was with risk neither do I care with Pvp points,as if they matter they don't do much anyways.

This is just example, on both newcomer and old player side. You get in Wilderness, not sure why you get killed(as if losing your last supplies get you somewhere) and then people embarrass you even more by flaming you to friends: "hhhhh look it's Triangle Dot, he doesn't risk anything, I KOed him clean.. hhhhhhhh, he came back all mad hhhhh" How low you get when you kill the newcomers then? Nobody learnt to pk in one day, so get a grip. Fight someone you're own size. If community has a problem with me, surely I can easily want to get muted, banned or whatever means necessary just to let others enjoy server till it becomes one player opened with two clients fighting with himself in wildy. Not even revenants or wildy wirm will get you wildy then... Right now, I wanna know this. Why exactly my actions and words are flamed all over forums, emps pvm and pk community?
I began seriously pking in the beginning of world, i got killed like no tomorrow aswell, though i began to work it out over time.
You legit replied here because i killed you for possible loots? You had just defeated kolodion and looted your drop. Why did i kill you when you had no armor and i saw the opportunity to spec? What a question
After all, people kill nonitemers alot, i can't be sure for what reason, let it be pkp or just the lack of people, it's the wilderness. I can't say i never kill nonitemers (without me knowing whether they have something or not) because i do, in deeper wilderness. How come i know whether you're running back to their death location? or holding 800m gps in your inventory? Or you've just completed a clue? - I assume you've got my point.

Also, people are always blaming the experianced ones, pkers that are used to the wilderness, when people like you walk under my fight, try to ruin my fight about three times just because i killed you after you looting kolodion?
I had this encounter a day ago, a rather rich staker came to risk fight me and kept eating to 85+, up to 100. Was annoying, stated it many times until he began to just shittalk me for being a safer, when i tried my best not to, even when he was at a safe advantage  often at times. Even though he himself said that he's  new to pking, when i told him not to trash me over things that he doesnt know of, i just get a "idc stfu" as a response. It's not the pker, it's the newcomer often at times who gets the pker's jet burning.

Could we please stick to the topic, though?

how would you make it easier for people to take their gear? its really just how you wanna place them into your bank yourself.

make a default slot the you setup and it takes out your default pk gear for example dh set with wapons, pots, food, and runes
so u click the command button and it automatically takes them out for you from the bank.
are you seriously such a lazy person that you need a goddamn button to take out 10 different items? i've lost faith in this part of the community..
Faith being lost because of a possible feature that feature that saves you a tad bit of time, why?
This would be an amazing feature to go with the hopefully upcoming placeholder feature, i tend to switch gears respectively to who I fight, which means a lot of regearing. Wouldn't hurt by any means to have it implemented.

I thought of bringing out some points that could possibly make pking enjoyable, viable, definitely forgiving for newer pkers, to also make them last in the wilderness without them running back to the arena after their first death.

1) Varied weaponry - Imo one of the biggest things that the 1v1 fights lack of, people using daggers, zamorakian spears, agses and granite mauls nonstop at pretty much all times. Surely, you'll see a couple of gladiator mauls and claws/Oclaws though very rarely. Range fights are just dart/crossbow spam into javelins/axes. Might seem like an OK variety to some people, though seems poor for me. Here's a post i made about a couple of weapons that i'd like to see adjusted, that. By no means would that be enough, i'd still like to see more different things, combos used that are actually viable compared to the current ''Meta''.

https://emps-world.net/forum/index.php?topic=18667.0

2) Current state of defense and accuracy bonuses. I don't just think that it's unecessary, but along with it there's a lot of flaws. It confuses alot of new pkers, even pkers that don't know all that much about how bonuses and stuff work, what actually matters in a gear setup.
Currently, all main armours offer you positive defense bonuses against all 3 combat styles, which is just not right. A mage with 3A robes will easily outdamage almost anybody. Saying that mage/range armours are too tanky is not the right way to put it. 3A mage robes legit have almost the highest melee defense in the game, with the recent +10% defense buff, i really don't know what has been thought when it's been implemented. I see this as an overall unhealthy system. Right now, it's a straight forward ''spamfest'' gear setup-wise. People use whatever they want, there's no flaw on fighting a wizard with plate armours. This being partially a reason why bridding is also dead, Tank gear/hides are absolutely useless in brid fights (in the meaning of swapping melee gear on, against your opponents whip/spec wep), they are over with about 4-6 freezes with either of the players barely having a chance to spec. (yes, i'm also saying that freeze times are way too long).
Accuracy bonuses, that are offered from armors is another thing that is just unecessary, not sure why they got featured. Basically, melee armors offer you melee accuracy, robes offer magic accuracy, range armors range accuracy. (another reason why hides are useless in brid fights, using plate armors when meleeing is just way more worth it, specially if you barely have a chance to spec your opponent.)  This is probably what also confuses alot of players, specially when people spec with an ags in robes or use a bow in partially melee-range gear.
The whole system would be a complete mess to fix, though imo it would be 100% worth it. Needless to be said, a lot of things need tobe changed along with it - example, balancing weapon accuracy. I'm not sure, though couldn't it just be reverted into what it has been, then adding small adjustments like strength bonuses on barrow armors and so on, because this is how it was in the old emps days, this is how it currently is in OsRs. As stated, just seems like a healthier system, even though it might seem like a lot of work to go trough. I have not considered things about pvm, though it does not seem that alot needs to be changed, other than maybe nerfing certain magic attacks on bosses. With this, range armors would be viable in melee setups for pvming, which (in my mind) would bring a lot of color to the pvm scene and make it more varied. That's another thing to talk of though and i'm not very similar to the current state of pvm.
EDIT: Forgot to mention. The fix to the armours being all around ''op'' would be adding negative/at least neutral bonuses. I know that Thomy has said that he's not a fan of them, though i can't stand the current system - negative/neutral bonuses seem crucial.

Sorry, i went really off topic with this point, though it's something that i've wanted to write about for a long time, I just haven't bothered to.

3) Bugfixes & testing weaponry/armors before they go live - Report all bugs found in the pvp. Straight forward, yet there's many. Soon, i'll make a topic about the ones that I know of.
I'm not sure whether it just seems to be so but legit, test everything before they go live. Which would go for both pvm and pvp. 2 Buffs for dark bow, yet it's still useless. A nerf for Vspear, it's now close to being useless. Obsidian claws just inaccurate as all hell. OR give us a method to test them in W3 - didn't people find bugs for GE when it was possible to test it in W3? Which would also go for testing weaponry, making sure that it's not over/underpowered.

4) PKP shop? Very unsure of how something like this would function, a way to make farming points impossible needs to be covered. Haven't thought about this much, just a great overall idea. Along with it, titles in front of your name/logos above your head when in the wilderness/colored skulls dependant on killstreaks? Wouldn't say those are hard to implement, though of course they'd not be all that there is to the PKP store.

EDIT: 5) There's 2 last updates that have rustled me to hell. Healing splats and healthbar values. your opponents health value is just something that imo you shouldn't have knowledge of, not only will it make prodding even more ''Popular'' but it will just make fights even more RNG based than they currently are. Both of those features also kill one of my favourite mechanics, fake eating (drinking a potion and equipping a spec weapon during the animation - this is not as straight forward as it sounds because of other animations possibly cancelling your drinking animation, making you fail the mechanic.) Of course, 1 tick specs can be done, though they're very odd in emps-world because of the game tick being rather short.
Brings me to yet another point, maybe poll features like this? Surely they seem like a harmless thing, though i disgust both of the features PvP-wise.
I'll bring an example, a dharok fight scenario to explain why I do not like the heal splats. Say you get hit rather low health, 20-40 ish and you're looking to axe your opponent back, without eating. Because often at times, you wouldn't actually see your opponent eating when he gets hit (because the ''blocking'' animation cancels out eating animations quite often) you would be able to go for an axe hit. Heal splats just give the opponent an easy way to react, just by seeing you sitting on low health, not eating, probably making the opponent cast vengeance/spec you out.

There's so much more ideas that I could add in here to improve pking in many ways, though i'll leave it at that right now, I want to see what people think.
Big thanks to everyone who cares about the current state of the wilderness and PvP.
Maybe with proper changes we can make it so that there's at last more people in the wilderness than there is in the duel arena.

12
Dragon spear special attack would cause a shit ton of frustration among pkers as it has no counterplay. It makes multi zones in PvP a matter of whoever has the most d spear specs. Seems like a bad idea, no?

I would rather see d2h spec, since that actually gives us a way of hitting multiple targets with melee.

This was discussed many times already and people tend to not like it as a feature because it's "too easy"?
People disliked the feature because it wasn't implemented the correct way.

The feature we wanted was combat not being interrupted by switching items, so that gmaul would be tremendously more convenient to use and bridding would be easier as well. What we got was switching acting like clicking the attack option. If you clicked on the ground to cancel combat from your side you would attack upon switching.

It got a shit ton of backlash from people that didn't look into it all that much and was quickly removed, which is a shame.
Would have been way easier to have the feature only on granite maul, i think with other armor/weapon switching combat should still be cancelled for sure. No clue actually why it was implemented the way it did lol
D spear is such meh for me,  i'd rather wanna see small buffs to mace/long, even though mace ignores prayer it's useless as hell compared to the dagger.

I personally don't dislike it,  there's some penalty in it now.
My opinion on their future usage in pvp
There's no way that they're going die out, they'll be used just as much.
With the dragon defender buffed, it's now actually way more effective to do a a 2 way defender, spec wep switch from a shield and a primary wep. Brings some color into pvp  ::)
There's also upgraded god books, you know. Best magic strength in the game? If i'm not mistaken? +12 is alot, though no defensive bonus. I do like it, they might get some usage now, same as with defender.
After all i'm not even sure whether people have them already or not.

14
As some of you might know, Granite Maul spec is kinda broken. Not recommend to pk with it.

When suggesting shit why don't you damn fools ever take time to explain what the fuck you actually want to be done to the thing that is ''broken''.
What else does can he mean by "broken" than the spec not being instant. Obvious?
This was discussed many times already and people tend to not like it as a feature because it's "too easy"?
I'd certainly want to see it featured, though.
The fact that gmaul also has it's own attack intervals when using it's special attack is very boring, since it cancels out a lot of different combos.
Example
Maul-ags instead of Ags-maul
There's very little variety in pvp  :P

15
Great job overall.
Defender change is amazing, not sure how spirit shields will be affected by the update. Anyway, with 3A buffed with soaking and +10% defence, it might be a bit too strong defense-wise. It was tanky as all hell before hand (At least in pvp) and third age mage robes have one of the highest (if not the highest) melee defence stats in game, imo all of that to 3A is a bit too much. Does not seem healthy as a system to me.
News/ideas on weaponry changes?
