Off-Topic / bosses' defense levels skyrocketing.
« on: September 06, 2018, 07:04:55 pm »
I am not yet sure if this is a bug or a feature but if you kill bosses (we killed corporeal beast) in groups of three their defense levels go up to oblivion. Before the update, I would spend around the same amount of time soloing the corporeal beast than we did trioing.

EDIT: Or maybe we just got insanely unlucky.

Feedback / demon orb.
« on: August 28, 2018, 11:36:01 pm »
Why it should be buffed.

Simply because there is no practical use for it at the moment, except for it being a cosmetic item and not a very good looking one at that. While i do understand the effort made by Thomy, to encourage people to use the regular spellbook because of this orb, the ancient spellbook is still superior even when wielding the orb. Literally every other shield is more practical when using mage than the orb.

What should be done.

Ditch the 2 damage boost to the spells from the regular spellbook. When designing the orb The development team completely missed the point of the regular spellbook, which is that it's meant for beginners and other various spells that have nothing to do with dealing damage.
Instead, make it serve another purpose which isn't about raw defense nor offense bonuses either (which i liked from the beginning about the orb), which would be similar to the imbued heart from Old school rune scape. When operated and wielded, the orb would add a temporary 10 level magic level boost. This boost would have a 5-7 minute cool down until it could be operated again.

NOTE: after the change intended in this feedback, the orb would still retain the offensive bonuses it has right now.

Suggestions & Ideas / group bosses' hiscores
« on: August 09, 2018, 10:25:31 am »
Reason to implement them.

Considering every time you want to kill either of the 4 group bosses that currently are in the game, you have to search for a team for ages, why not implement a system that would allow players to find teams easier to kill a specific boss every month and then reward them if they reach a specific kill count of each boss or place top of the month on that boss' kill count?
This would make completing slayer tasks for some bosses easier and would encourage newer players to kill these specific bosses.

How it would work.

Every month there would be a hiscore for one of the 4 bosses (nex, kal'ger, yk-lagor, har'lakk). Because there would be a hiscore for only one of those, this would allow players to grind out their wanted items from that boss in the time given and if they place top 3 each month, they would get a rare cosmetic reward. Once the month is over and the champions of the boss are decided, another boss would come into the rotation for a month. This could be an ongoing thing or it could last for only 4 months.

Rewards

Besides being able to get the rewards from each of the bosses easier, players would be added to the group bosses' hiscore's list, which could be viewed on forums or in game through viewing orbs, which would be placed in each chamber that the bosses reside in.
The rewards for the winners of each month could be gilded items from the voting boxes (because they are so rare at the moment), dyes, titles, capes or other cosmetic items.

Feedback / Glacors.
« on: July 29, 2018, 11:24:02 am »
To start off no, I am not baby raging because they're too hard.
They need to be nerfed. They're supposed to be demi - bosses but they have more hp than most regular bosses in emps world, let me show you some examples. Glacors have more hitpoints than:

King black dragon
Chaos Elemental
Kalphite Queen
Wildywyrm
Smoke Demon Champion
General Graardor
K'ril Tsutsaroth
Commander Zilyana
Kree'Arra

To top it all off, it also spawns minions, which adds even an extra 240 hp to the monster, that's sums up to a total of 890 hp, which makes it stronger than corporeal god damn beast, which is renowned for its' durability.

Also,  the minions that they spawn add a hell of a lot of defense + offense bonuses to the boss, so it's defense needs to get nerfed as well.

Their drop table sucks ass as well. You will lose more money then you get from them if you're unlucky and don't manage to get a glove drop.

In summary, it's just as rare to see anyone from the community get a glove drop from these monsters than it is to get it is yourself because literally almost no one kills glacors. Players who get glacor tasks usually skip them, unless they have high end gear and can tank them in one trip.

•   Nerf their hitpoints
•   Nerf their defense after the minions spawn
•   Nerf minion hitpoints
•   Buff the drop table

Guides / Guide to the demon bosses, part 1 - Kal'ger
« on: July 28, 2018, 04:35:30 pm »
Introduction
Because there are no guides on the new demon bosses, I will try to take it upon myself to try to explain how to kill each and every one of them properly, starting with the latest of the three - Kal'ger.

level requirements
•   96 herblore - (to make overloads).
•   99 defense
•   99 hitpoints
•   99 attack level (optional if you use range).
•   99 strength (optional if you use range).
•   99 range (optional if you use melee).
•   70 prayer (to use piety prayers)

Location
Kal'ger is located in the barbarian dungeon, The ladder that leads to its' lair is near baby blue dragons.

IMPORTANT: If you die, the items spawn near the ladder upstairs.

setup/inventory
There are a few different approaches you can take setting up your inventory. to start off, you need to choose if you are going to take a poison purge aura (which is very helpful at this boss because it poisons you for 10 damage every time you reach its' range stage) or an antipoison potion.

This is the inventory setup if you decide to take a bandos godsword (shorter trips, faster kills).

And this is the setup if you take a saradomin godsword (longer trips, slower kills).

I will not go on a rant on what gear you should take because of course, the best gear to take there would be nex armor, which is not accessible to the majority of the community. However, I will show the gear that i used to kill over 200 of kal'gers and do 11-13 kills per trip.

NOTE: I would also recommend to do the first few trips with range, because it is a little bit more noob friendly and the boss has
some multi attacks which he performs with melee, so you would lose less hitpoints killing it from a distance.

Killing the boss, mechanics, phases

The boss itself is very simple once you understand how to kill it and unlike any other demon boss it doesn't spawn minions, which makes the kills a lot faster and much like nex, it has a few phases. however, these phases can easily be understood, just look at what weapon kal'ger uses and use the protection prayer from that.
During all the phases kal'ger has a special attack, which makes meteors, that ignore all protection prayers, fall from the ceiling. You need to avoid these meteors or you will lose a lot of hp very quickly.
Every time this special attack occurs, he will yell it out loud, like such:

2400-2000. The melee phase

This phase is very simple, just pray melee and avoid the meteors.

2000-1600. The melee and mage phase

This phase is a little bit more complicated. Most players who attempt killing kal'ger lose most of their hitpoints during this and one other phase.
Just like in the first phase, your default prayer is melee however, sometimes kal'ger will use his mage attack during this phase, during which you need to switch to mage prayer, then switch back to melee prayer once the attack is over. you can indicate that a mage attack will happen when kal'ger claps his hands. The mage attack itself looks like this.

1600-1200. The range phase

Pray range in this phase and avoid the meteors.

1200-800. The melee and mage phase

this phase is completely identical to the 2000-1600 phase.

800-400. The mage phase

Use mage protection prayer during this whole phase. when Kal'ger bashes the ground with his staff, as shown in the picture, you need to move or you will receive 2 hits that completely ignore all prayer.

400-ded. The melee phase

this phase is identical to the first phase, however, kal'ger deals a little bit more damage with the maul.

Drop table
Now that you're ready to slay this beast, lets look at the rewards you will be able to receive.

Epilogue
Excuse me if i made any mistakes writing this guide, it is my first one after all. If i missed something, please let me know, i will then edit it in. This guide is the first one out of three i'm planning to do on demon bosses.
Thank you for reading and happy pvming.

Off-Topic / lag spykes.
« on: July 27, 2018, 04:14:59 pm »
I wasn't going to report on this, but god, i can't take it anymore. every 20-30 minutes or so, i get these huge lag spykes, sometimes i completely disconnect, which makes it literally impossible to efficiently pvm. I am positive that it isn't my internet's problem, nor the fps because it is always 60+ in the top right corner.
for the love of chin chin, pls fix.
