Suggestions & Ideas / A "better use" for World 3
« on: February 24, 2017, 06:32:14 pm »
I know this suggestion will get a lot of hate and backlash, I'd lose a lot of reputation here, but I just HAVE to put it here. I don't actually know the posibilities this server has, so I'm sorry if this suggestion sounds stupid.

I know that World 3 is a testing world where you can spawn items and etc. and I don't think it can be changed. Since I saw many topics about the current state of economy and money sinks, and in Emps-World clan chat how this server is too capitalistic.

So, I came up with an idea that the World 3 could be made into a whole new world where our stats are "seperate" from the main game. We all would have to start from scratch, no skills and no gold with a few improvements that the server could have:

1. The experience rates: The experience rates could be reduced from 22x to 15x, so getting a 99 would be a little bit more challenging and 99 in all melee skills wouldn't take 2 nights of afking at bloodworms.

2. The starting items: I think that the starting items should give you less supplies. The runes would still be the same, but the starting gold in my opinion could be maximum 10,000 gold, since 25k seems like much to me.

3. Untradeable items: I think that all of the items that you get from minigames should be made untradeable and you would always retrieve it when you die. To avoid abuse, I suggest that if you die with a void armour piece, dragon defender, fire cape, ava's accumulator, you'd have to repaid them for 500,000 gold each, so you can wear them again. Lower-tier items would cost less to repair. The killer would get 75% of the repair cost as a coins drop. Elemental whips should have 50% chance of dropping the crystal to the player who killed you, and 50% chance of giving nothing. When dying in PVM, however, you'd always keep those items, even if they're not protected without any fee (could be changed). Gold would have more value, minigames would be worth playing and PKing wouldn't be so terrible.

So, if this idea somehow gets implemented, if the new world would get a lot of attention and players playing there for like a month than in the main game, the main game could be moved to world 3 and the new world would be switched to 1 and 2.

And again, I don't know the possibilies the programmers could do. Plus, we wouldn't lose any players since the main servers are still going to be there.

So, what do you think?

Suggestions & Ideas / Emps-World on IOS and Android
« on: February 09, 2017, 07:18:28 am »
Hello. So I found this new app in the Playstore that is called "GNURoot". It basically allows you to use LinuxOS on your device. It can run OSRS already, and I think it's possible to make it run emps-world. In my opinion, it'd be a great idea to make it official, but I'm no expert at using the terminal, so it'd be a job for a Linux user to make the tutorial or an official modded GNURoot app. Sorry if this suggestion confuses you, since I'm in a hurry atm. What are your throughts?

Guides / How to repair your broken/damaged items!
« on: February 07, 2017, 07:56:55 pm »
I've seen quite a few people asking how to repair broken barrows items or your rod of ivandis in the clan chat. There's only one way to do this, and it's not free. In fact, it costs quite a bit to repair your items.

Meet Bob, our savior that repairs our broken barrow items, used rod of ivandis and crystal bow. He is located in Lumbridge and Port Sarim:

(Location in Port Sarim)

(Location in Lumbridge)

The easiest way to get to Lumbridge would be by using the lumbridge teleport tablet (or teleport spell)

The easiest ways to get to Port Sarim would be by:

1. Setting your home teleport to Rimmington (Or Draynor Village) and walking there by foot (Requires activated e-mail)

2. Amulet of glory teleport

3. Walking there from barbarian village, past the draynor manor, then turning right (Not recommended, takes a little bit longer)

Item repairing

To repair your degraded or broken items, simply use the item and use it on Bob. The repair cost is based off how badly the item is damaged, and the item slot it belongs to (In example, you will pay less for a broken Torag's helmet than a broken Torag's platebody. The price should range around from 5k to 2m Gold (a fully degraded rod of ivandis will turn into rod dust and will cost you 2m).

Items that can be repaired using Bob.

At the moment, the items that can be fixed are all barrows pieces, rod of ivandis (and rod dust after it runs out of all charges), crystal shield and bow (and a crystal seed or consecration seed after they both run out of charges).

And that's pretty much it! If you have any more questions, PM me in game! My nick name is Bronneh. If you have something to add that I haven't mentioned, make sure to reply and tell me what's wrong or missing!

General Discussion / Let's discuss about new players coming to this server.
« on: February 07, 2017, 02:12:31 pm »
As the title suggests, let's discuss about new players. I was scrolling through the forums, and  I've noticed that people complain about new players not coming here and older players quitting, effectively dropping our player count. But the question is: Why are people not coming here? In my opinion, it's because others don't know about this server (poor advertisement). I myself 6 years ago (with my old account) found this server only when I misheard a random conversation. What are your throughts?

Suggestions & Ideas / Staking cooldown
« on: February 04, 2017, 09:50:03 pm »
I saw a few suggestions about limiting staking and removing the option to stake if you're not a member. I got another, and in my opinion better idea to do this. It's called The Staking Cooldown.

What it does:

After a certain amount of stakes (It's based off your total level), you can't stake again for 12 hours. After those 12 hours, the staking cooldown refreshes and you can stake again! This could help those people who are having staking problems and can't stop after winning or losing a few in a row to stop, to get their skills up and etc.

But, this can be bypassed in a way by having multiple accounts, which I doubt someone will have. Plus, it's better to have a 1500 total skill level account than three accounts that have 300 total skill level each.

So, what do you think?

Games / Loot from my 1st medium clue in OSRS...

It's not Ranger boots, but..

Hello! I'm a player known as "Brony Fggt"! I just wanted to share the moneymaking method that I'm currently using, and it's extremely good gp/hr. So, let's get started!

Requirements:

- Level 10 Thieving (Only if you want to pickpocket)
- An active membership (Only if you want to pickpocket)
- Level 32 Farming (42 for more herbs per hour)
- A few coins
- A Camelot teletab, which can get obtained by killing wizards south of the village. (You can bring more to increase your profit, but we'll get to that later)
- (Optional) Falador teletab, obtained the same way as a camelot teletab, if you want to save like 30 seconds of walking

These stats and items are very easy to get, even on a new account.

The process:

Step one (If you want to pickpocket, is better in my opinion):You have to travel to Falador and then walk to the park, but if you have a Falador teleportation tablet, you can just teleport there. Here's a map:

Then, after getting there, you should see two farmers walking around. You have to pickpocket them now for about 10-20 minutes straight:

Pickpocket them until you have a minimum of 24 (30, if you have a lot of Camelot teleports) ranarr seeds (this is very important, and it's recommended that you get double or triple amount of seeds than the minimum 24(30)).

Step 2:Now, after pickpocketing and gathering OR buying all those seeds, you want to teleport to Camelot using your teletab.

Here's a map, in case you get confused:

Here we are. Now, to buy supplies that you need to grow those herbs, you have to select the "Exchange" option when right-clicking on this guy:

Now, you have to buy a watering can, a rake and seed dibber to start.

Step 3:Fill the watering can you got here (use the watering can on the sink):

Now, we should start planting those seeds. Get back to the mud patch with ranarr seeds ONLY and a seed dibber in your inventory. If you have other seeds, just bank them south of the mud patches. When you're done, plant in all 12 patches.

Now, go to your bank and get a watering can and a rake. You'll have to wait five minutes now, so go get a snack or go train fishing. Once your plants grow up, you'll see this message:

Then come back, and inspect every single plant in your patches. Repeat the process 5 times, and harvest all the herbs. When your inventory is full, bank and go back! And now, since you have got your plants, sell them to other players! In an hour, you can obtain approx. 200 ranarr weed, which is a lot! Plus, you get about 500 experience when you water or rake the plant, and a bonus of about 130 experience when you harvest the plant and it grows up.

Step 4 (If you have more than one Camelot teleport: After planting the seeds in Catherby (the city next to Camelot), you might want to teleport back to barbarian village and go south. There are three more patches where you can plant.

Now, teleport back to Camelot, wait until the herbs grow there, teleport back to Barbarian village, take care of those herbs and repeat! You'll get more ranarr weeds and experience per hour by doing this.

Step 5(Optional, requires 35 herblore and more effort, gets you even more profit): You can buy empty vials and fill them with water to make vials of water. You can buy vials at any general store. Use the "Buy X" option and quickly double tap a number like 9 or 5 to buy a whole inventory quickly.

After you buy a whole inventory of vials, you can fill them up by using a vial on fountains, sinks, wells, etc. Now, after that's done, you have to go to the Edgeville and the wilderness (Or use a teleport at level 85 magic) and talk to the ghost captain (the one in Falador only teleports you to Canifis):

(Sorry, I have only 10 HP and the skeleton hits hard on me! I circled the ghost captain red.)

There's another a lot safer way to get there. First, you have to travel to Relekka, which you can do in two ways:
(Non-Members way, you have to have your e-mail registered) Go to the Barbarian village and talk to the Fish Monger (His house is right next to Galadah's, the ones who you've rescued during barbarian assistance):

(Members way, requires 50 gp) Travel to Al Kharid, go west and talk to the Sailor.
http://puu.sh/tFd4t.jpg

Then, go west until you find this guy, and travel to Waterbirth island.

After that, enter the cave. You should see a lot of dagannoths there. Now, start picking up the Snape grass, the secondary ingredients of the prayer potion.

That's not the only spawn of the snape grasses in the dungeon. There are about 6 more, just walk around the giant rock in the center! Now, all you have to do is to clean the ranarr, put it in the vial of water and to use the snape grass on unfinished ranarr potion.

Additional notes (Important!):

- DO NOT LEAVE THE PLANTS TO GROW WITHOUT LOOKING AFTER THEM FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME! THE PLANTS WILL DIE!

- The spell that I've mentioned earlier is called "Dagannoth teleport", and you can cast it while having the lunar spellbook. You can get it by talking to Meteora, who is living in Al Kharid and Edgeville, and the spell requires 7 Water, 3 Law, 3 Astral runes to cast.

- You can also get fishing experience if you decide to go and do fishing in Catherby.

-Having 10 levels above the farming requirement (which is 32) can increase your herbs gathered per hour!

Well, I hope this guide was informative enough for you, and if you, the person who reads this, is going to use this guide, then I wish you luck at making that bank!
