Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Making staking members only
« on: February 04, 2017, 10:30:58 pm »
I disagree with this suggestion.

Reason #1: This could increase the prices of Members' Tickets. The members' tickets can only be bought with IRL cash, encouraging players to literally buy gold, putting players who can't spend any money and trying to make money themselves at an even bigger disadvantage. I know it helps to keep the server up, but it's just wrong in my opinion to have a big advantage if you're doing good financially IRL. You're free to call me stupid for this, but this is just my opinion.

Reason #2: It's just pointless to add this. There's like 10 people who I saw personally staking in the peak time, so coding and working for those 10 people just to get a feature removed for them is again, wrong. Plus, no one is actually quitting if they're losing their bank. Rich, in example, would probably have high stats and could re-build pretty easily and continue staking, even with member requirement. Poor, on the other half, would lose a million or two, quit for a day, make money and stake again, repeat. By putting the members requirement, the poor people would actually quit if they found the adrenaline they got from staking enjoyable.
#1:
You can get the money for a member ticket on a fresh account within 4 hours of creating it. Kind of low effort seeing as the ticket lasts you 30 days and offers you even more ways to make money.

#2:
This wouldn't affect those 10 people, the thing is, those 10 people are not the ones I'm targetting with this suggestion. It's the people that don't really know how to make money and aren't very rich. It doesn't affect rich stakers, it only puts the entry level for staking higher so that poor people will at least take a bit longer to get to the duel arena.

Pking and staking are both ways of risking your money to make more money. If pking is non-member and staking is member, where are people more likely to go to?

#1:
Again, you can skip those four hours of progress just by spending like 5 euro, which again, seems unfair to me.

#2: Most of the stakers are actually lazy people that don't want to make money by regular means. They want to get money fast, so that's why they stake. And a lot of people in this server (Like everyone) have maxed melee stats, so I find it just hard to believe that a poor staker that makes 1M and loses it, repeat, would actually work to make that money for members' ticket. I would imagine seeing a few less people playing here if this gets added.

Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Staking cooldown
« on: February 04, 2017, 10:13:04 pm »
Staking is obviously becoming a problem for the Eco. I think something needs to be implemented to condense the amount of people staking also.
However, I don't think a cooldown is the solution.
Check out Charr's suggestion, it seems more fitting to me.

I saw that suggestion, and by having a member status you can still lose your bank pretty easily. In my opinion, my suggestion prevents people from losing their entire cash stack more effectively, but hey, I don't want to say that my suggestion is better, no. Member's fee would limit the staking, too. My suggestion is effective towards people that are more wealthy, while Charr's is towards the poor.

You're greatly underestimating how many accounts these people have. This wouldn't change anything.
Even if we assigned that limit to an IP instead of the account, it could still be bypassed.

Also this would only mean that instead of many small stakes, people would start doing high stakes, so they wouldn't be stopped by the limit so soon.

Waste of coding time imo.

It's just an idea that came to my head for like 10 minutes. It can be changed to GP limit per day that depends on total level (10M-500M), but if you want to stake higher than that without limits, the requirement would be to be maxed. The stake ban by IP bypassing wouldn't be a really big thing in my opinion, since the staking community in my opinion is pretty immature, so some of them maybe don't even know what a VPN is. But thanks for the feedback!

Suggestions & Ideas / Staking cooldown
« on: February 04, 2017, 09:50:03 pm »
I saw a few suggestions about limiting staking and removing the option to stake if you're not a member. I got another, and in my opinion better idea to do this. It's called The Staking Cooldown.

What it does:

After a certain amount of stakes (It's based off your total level), you can't stake again for 12 hours. After those 12 hours, the staking cooldown refreshes and you can stake again! This could help those people who are having staking problems and can't stop after winning or losing a few in a row to stop, to get their skills up and etc.

But, this can be bypassed in a way by having multiple accounts, which I doubt someone will have. Plus, it's better to have a 1500 total skill level account than three accounts that have 300 total skill level each.

So, what do you think?

I think you should change the text above your deadline counter to "The deadline will be set 8th of Feburary , 2017, two years and one week after I joined emps world." I just throught I could point that out.

Even though it needs polish a lot, for your first guide(I take it) it's quite well you did there. :)

Thank you! Tried to make the guide as detailed as possible, and I guess I failed a little, haha.

Feedback:
  • Membership is required to pickpocket the seeds, I think this should be clarified.
  • Image quality can be improved upon but everything functions perfectly fine.
  • Additionally I feel you should mention that these ranarrs can be made into prayer potions at level 35 herblore. Vials of water can be obtained from the general store and filled at any water source. Snape grass can be picked up off the floor in dagannoth cave. It's a bit of extra work but results in a lot more profit.
  • I'm not a fan of including prices in a guide, this is my personal opinion though. I'd rather see item output per hour.
  • 10 levels over the initial farming requirement maximizes the amount of herbs gained.
That's all, good to see more guides.

Improved the guide, and I have already done my best to improve the quality of the image. The pictures without editing looked way more blurry! And thanks for the feedback.  :)

Changed my entry

Hello! I'm a player known as "Brony Fggt"! I just wanted to share the moneymaking method that I'm currently using, and it's extremely good gp/hr. So, let's get started!

Requirements:

- Level 10 Thieving (Only if you want to pickpocket)
- An active membership (Only if you want to pickpocket)
- Level 32 Farming (42 for more herbs per hour)
- A few coins
- A Camelot teletab, which can get obtained by killing wizards south of the village. (You can bring more to increase your profit, but we'll get to that later)
- (Optional) Falador teletab, obtained the same way as a camelot teletab, if you want to save like 30 seconds of walking

These stats and items are very easy to get, even on a new account.

The process:

Step one (If you want to pickpocket, is better in my opinion):You have to travel to Falador and then walk to the park, but if you have a Falador teleportation tablet, you can just teleport there. Here's a map:

Then, after getting there, you should see two farmers walking around. You have to pickpocket them now for about 10-20 minutes straight:

Pickpocket them until you have a minimum of 24 (30, if you have a lot of Camelot teleports) ranarr seeds (this is very important, and it's recommended that you get double or triple amount of seeds than the minimum 24(30)).

Step 2:Now, after pickpocketing and gathering OR buying all those seeds, you want to teleport to Camelot using your teletab.

Here's a map, in case you get confused:

Here we are. Now, to buy supplies that you need to grow those herbs, you have to select the "Exchange" option when right-clicking on this guy:

Now, you have to buy a watering can, a rake and seed dibber to start.

Step 3:Fill the watering can you got here (use the watering can on the sink):

Now, we should start planting those seeds. Get back to the mud patch with ranarr seeds ONLY and a seed dibber in your inventory. If you have other seeds, just bank them south of the mud patches. When you're done, plant in all 12 patches.

Now, go to your bank and get a watering can and a rake. You'll have to wait five minutes now, so go get a snack or go train fishing. Once your plants grow up, you'll see this message:

Then come back, and inspect every single plant in your patches. Repeat the process 5 times, and harvest all the herbs. When your inventory is full, bank and go back! And now, since you have got your plants, sell them to other players! In an hour, you can obtain approx. 200 ranarr weed, which is a lot! Plus, you get about 500 experience when you water or rake the plant, and a bonus of about 130 experience when you harvest the plant and it grows up.

Step 4 (If you have more than one Camelot teleport: After planting the seeds in Catherby (the city next to Camelot), you might want to teleport back to barbarian village and go south. There are three more patches where you can plant.

Now, teleport back to Camelot, wait until the herbs grow there, teleport back to Barbarian village, take care of those herbs and repeat! You'll get more ranarr weeds and experience per hour by doing this.

Step 5(Optional, requires 35 herblore and more effort, gets you even more profit): You can buy empty vials and fill them with water to make vials of water. You can buy vials at any general store. Use the "Buy X" option and quickly double tap a number like 9 or 5 to buy a whole inventory quickly.

After you buy a whole inventory of vials, you can fill them up by using a vial on fountains, sinks, wells, etc. Now, after that's done, you have to go to the Edgeville and the wilderness (Or use a teleport at level 85 magic) and talk to the ghost captain (the one in Falador only teleports you to Canifis):

(Sorry, I have only 10 HP and the skeleton hits hard on me! I circled the ghost captain red.)

There's another a lot safer way to get there. First, you have to travel to Relekka, which you can do in two ways:
(Non-Members way, you have to have your e-mail registered) Go to the Barbarian village and talk to the Fish Monger (His house is right next to Galadah's, the ones who you've rescued during barbarian assistance):

(Members way, requires 50 gp) Travel to Al Kharid, go west and talk to the Sailor.
http://puu.sh/tFd4t.jpg

Then, go west until you find this guy, and travel to Waterbirth island.

After that, enter the cave. You should see a lot of dagannoths there. Now, start picking up the Snape grass, the secondary ingredients of the prayer potion.

That's not the only spawn of the snape grasses in the dungeon. There are about 6 more, just walk around the giant rock in the center! Now, all you have to do is to clean the ranarr, put it in the vial of water and to use the snape grass on unfinished ranarr potion.

Additional notes (Important!):

- DO NOT LEAVE THE PLANTS TO GROW WITHOUT LOOKING AFTER THEM FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME! THE PLANTS WILL DIE!

- The spell that I've mentioned earlier is called "Dagannoth teleport", and you can cast it while having the lunar spellbook. You can get it by talking to Meteora, who is living in Al Kharid and Edgeville, and the spell requires 7 Water, 3 Law, 3 Astral runes to cast.

- You can also get fishing experience if you decide to go and do fishing in Catherby.

-Having 10 levels above the farming requirement (which is 32) can increase your herbs gathered per hour!

Well, I hope this guide was informative enough for you, and if you, the person who reads this, is going to use this guide, then I wish you luck at making that bank!
