I tried water and earth, both didn't work...

Did you actually try to cast a spell or are you just judging by the look-out of the rune in the spellbook tab?

I don't know about this one, in my opinion Emps would need more of bosses like KBD was back in the days.
Boss with good drops but also killable for low-levels.

Also, they are supposed to be fought for the bones, not good drops. They also drop onyx bolttips and seeds.
