i used to have such problem very often and still sometimes have it, but since then i have googled about lucid dreaming and have accidentally stumbled upon a great way to fall asleep.
just lay on your back or on your side and don't move a muscle.
if you lay on your back, there's a chance you will lucid dream. it takes around 20-30 mins to fall asleep. (I know it's quite a long time, but it's better than staying awake for a whole night)
if you're laying on your side (and not moving a muscle ofc) then there's little chance you'll start lucid dreaming, but you'll still fall asleep after 20 minutes for sure.
and after 10-20 minutes of staying still, you'll start to feel itches all over your body, just ignore them and don't move. (it's your brain sending signals to your body to make sure if you're still awake)
oh, and it might be important mentioning, that if you open your eyes after around 25 minutes laying on your back, you might experience sleep paralysis, which is a very unpleasant feeling.
remember to tire yourself out during the day. do something productive. your daily schedule should consist of thinking and physical activities. don't just sit on the pc all day playing emps world like a loser (me :kappa:), consider taking a walk before going to shower, breathe some fresh air.
