Bringing the experience to you...



What is Emps-Kit?

Emps-Kit is a calculator which holds information about all of the skill experience rates in Emps-World. This means that you no longer have to find the experience and calculate yourself. The calculator is very simple but is very useful at the same time. The calculator has been designed by Il Pk I (http://emps-world.net/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=52) using information from the Emps-World Wiki (http://emps-world.net/wiki).

When does Emps-Kit get updated?

Emps-Kit is an on-going project, it will never be finished as the experience rates change all the time. When the experience rates change I will be updating them, however this might not happen instantly. When you download Emps-Kit you will be able to see the current version near the bottom, this will tell you if the calculator is up to date, or out of date. Emps-Kit will NOT automatically update, you will have to do this yourself, the current version will simply alert you.

Where can I download Emps-Kit?

The main download link for the Emps-Kit will be located here (http://uppit.com/zmaz684qrzl4). However this link will not always stay the same as when I update the calculator I will have to re-upload it. Therefore if you were thinking of bookmarking the link I would recommend bookmarking this topic instead so you can find the link with much more ease. Please note that Emps-Kit is a .exe file, this means that websites do not often allow these to be uploaded, I have bypassed this by storing it inside a .rar file (you can extract it using WinRAR (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)).

Enhancements

Many items provide you with experience boosts of some kind therefore I have added the option to Emps-Kit, however please note this feature may not work as intended. If you do notice any problems with this feature please report them within this topic and I will try to fix them as soon as possible.

However this is only to calculate howmany actions you need from current level X to taget level Y.
Isn't there an option to type in the target EXP?
(e.g. I have 25.000.000 runecrafting exp and my target is 50.000.000 exp)

At this current point in time you can only calculate level X to target level Y. In the future I will be updating to allow the user to input experience above level 99.

Ah yeah I could try checkboxes, I think the drop down is confusing people with all of the options. I'll look at converting it in the future :)

Probably.

The Gem stall EXP is wrong, When its double xp you get 3180 xp with brawlers on

You would obviously want to know how many monsters you would need to kill to level up rather than how much damage you would need to do?

The number, calculated based on their HP and damage*xp/damage.
Adding a feature to show the xp or total damage (although relatively less useful) shouldn't be too hard to implement either.

Although don't forget about the weird system regarding attack style: attack, def, str, mixed. Probably best to start simple and add the mixed for a future version.

The only 'flaw' i found was that the number of kills required isn't rounded up, but it should be, since you won't hit the targeted xp/level without it.

Giving an EXP range instead of just levels would be nice too.

Update on the above: This will most likely be delayed due to my university assignment, however the wait will be worth it as I will try to add the hunter skill tab. Sorry for the delay! :)

I mean a tab that basically combines the smelting and smithing tab.
For example:
You want to get 99 smithing, you currently have 90 smithing. You want to make the bars yourself and you're using mithril bars. At the moment you have to do the following to know how much bars you will need to smelt and smith: 120(xp for smelting) + 340 (xp for smithing) = 460 xp. Now you have to do the remaining xp: 7.668.074 / 460 xp = 16.669 bars.
It would be nice if the Emps-Kit could do those calculations for you.

EDIT: Emps-Kit was using some custom font which most users do not have installed, I have updated the main links to include the updated version which should feature fonts available on all computers. The version of Emps-Kit is still 0.3 (no changes apart from the fonts).

I think you can stop Norton from deleting certain .exe files, most anti virus programs dislike .exe files which is why it keeps deleting it. You can try looking here (http://community.norton.com/en/forums/how-get-norton-360-stop-deleting-program-exe-file-it-thinks-virus). I can assure you that this will not harm your computer :)

You're able to select the Blast Fusion hammer enchantment for smelting bars.  (http://gyazo.com/671a889ec6b1541d1349032d299ae6ff) You cannot use a BF hammer for smelting bars. I guess it's a bug.

Hmm, I've never actually saw this error message before, and I haven't had any problems with getting this in the past. I'll try search the internet to see if I can find a solution for you :)

As far as I know, Emps-Kit does not run on macs (I cannot test this as I do not have access to a mac). When testing with you we had to download multiple programs in order to get it to open and when you clicked on a button it just closed the application.

Yes, a few people have asked me this already. This would be impossible for me as I have no clue how to make mobile applications, sorry.

I don't know if anyone suggest this yet but  can you make it that you could enter in the amount of item you have and current xp then when you press the calculate button. It will show you the xp that you will gain after you have made the items. I know this function will not be useful for all skills but for some.

For example:  if you have 3k dragon bones and you just want to know what your xp/lvl will be, so you enter in 3000 in the action(s) and select dragon bones then type in your current xp then chose double xp, glove etc. After that you press calculate, it will show you the target xp on what your xp will be after you buried all 3k dragon bones.

XP scales by levels. The higher your level, the more XP you get :P

The formula for the XP you get is [300*L+300] , L being your level. At prayer the XP is halved, and is calculated using this [(300*L+300)/2].

Yup that is exactly what it means, I was going to make it change depending on what skill tab you had selected (and I still can) however you can gain experience in multiple different ways for that one skill so I thought this would be slightly confusing if it kept changing. I am still willing to change it though if people find the current method confusing. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Ozzy, is it possible for this to be available to Mac users? A few people have asked about it.

I would love to make Emps-Kit available for MAC users however I have not found any way to port it over yet (I have been looking and I've seen mono appear a few times). If anybody knows how to do this and could contact me over PM I would gladly look into it.

As I said before I would love to make Emps-Kit available on MAC and I'm currently having issues porting. This issue is also happening for Linux users therefore I'll try my best but I cannot promise anything at this stage.

However, if somebody who does use a MAC/Linux could contact me tomorrow whenever preferably I could start checking if the port has worked.

I've been pretty busy with university work recently which is the reason behind not updating Emps-Kit in a long time. I was speaking with Charr the other day and he gave me a list of the major changes which were posted in Updates and Annoucements section. I don't think he mentioned hunter however so I'll do a quick check of all skills when I come to update it.

Thanks for the feedback, feel free to post any other incorrect experience rates you notice and I'll fix it when I can :)

They'll be added within the next update along with the hunter potion and super melee potion as I don't think they were listed within the current version. The tip will be removed thanks :)

I got the pest control experience kind-of working however I had a few issues when trying to calculate the reward experience with the level experience (which the user entered) rather than the levels (1-99). Emps-Kit currently cannot figure out what experience equals what level, this is something I'll try to add in a future version though.

Just a quick update, I am working on updating Emps-Kit so that a new version can be released as soon as possible. The problem which I am having is that I am not sure what has changed in-game as I have not been active for some time.

A number of players have helped so far (JP, Vix, Jandar, Charr, Jamie and others) with this process however I know changes may have been overlooked. You can see all of the noted changes I have so far below:


If any additional changes have been made to the game regarding level, experience or new items to skilling please let me know.

I would like to see time being added to emps kit in the future. It would allow people to easily calculate how much time they would spend doing something. Of course it's physically impossible to calculate that perfectly for each individual user but a potential minimum amount of time shouldn't be too bad.

Since level influence on action time when skilling isn't super clear I would recommend that the rates for skilling actions only be measured on the required level and level 99. Slayer could be done by letting a player fill in the dps of their gear (which they could test at dummies). It might not all be exact but it should give players a better idea of how long something takes. It might be too big of a project though.

Glad to see you keeping emps kit updated.
