It's called economy.

Prices in a young economy fluctuate very much and very common.
This might have been the problem in your case.

If you don't want to waste this much of money on it,  you could try your luck at GWD Sara boss.

Nope, it exploded because the SS drop was removed from the saradomin boss room minions. Therefore, the only way to obtain a saradomin sword would be by killing Commander Zilyana herself.

This both.

The SS dropped off minions with a very low droprate, and a 3% droprate from zilyana herself. This was changed to no drop by the minions, and 1.5% by zilyana, comparable to the zamorak/sara bows droprate. Although SS is much higher in demand than a saradomin bow though, even if they have the same obtain rate.
