Shit gear = tremendously lower attack bonus. Armor has much bigger impact on accuracy than on max hit. Still it manages to high very often. Then there are those weapons with increased accuracy on special attacks that are absolutely garbage.

Still, being lucky doesn't mean it's fair to hit an 81 with terrible gear.
I was next to Lars when he died to the V Spear special, the guy was in verac and nezzy helm, pulled out the V spear special for an 81.
