Title: mage vs melee
Post by: Anabool on March 11, 2015, 03:13:21 pm
Melee armour gives + on mage defence? wtf?

Please fix this like how it works normal all magers keep splashing.
Maxed gear mage and keep splashing 7 times on full dragon lol!
Mage need to hit harder on melee not splashing thats only with good ranging gear.

Get better mage gear... It's hard with enchanted set indeed.

Can approve it's like that while wearing Zuriels.

Problem with mage vs melee is the whole freezing thing.
As some people want it to be, mage should perma freeze anything in melee armour, and it should just die, not matter what.
I think mage is fine as it is, freezing is already too good against melee.

In my opinion splashing combat spells on melee gear is fine, you will hit 0 with melee on range armor too. However the problem is that non combat spells such as entangle and teleblock also splash a lot on melee armor. Once you splash a teleblock the target will probably teleport away, which happens far too often right now. I think those spells should splash less, especially on melee armor.

Why should magic hit any more often than melee or ranged does? You hit 0's as often with melee and ranged as with magic.

People aren't stupid. When they see you, BAM magic protection goes on, deflecting 50% of magic accuracy and damage. It's the same with all protections no matter what armor or style you're using. Mage annihilates melle once the protection is off.

And also, you do realize that meleers cannot even hit you if you freeze them?

If this is the case, I think that non-combat spells should get an accuracy boost.  I'm not sure how it works, but I'm sure they can be individually buffed.

The problem if you farcast is that the opponent just uses magic protect, which I assume leads to a draw.  Ideally, we'd want magers to not farcast, but the solution to that would likely be buffing a non-freezing spell to surpass or equal ice barrage.   Inb4customlevel99spell.

This happens when the magers attack people who don't even want to fight. We should promote real PKing, PKers vs PKers, not PKers vs PvMers.

I'll look into the possibilities and see if anything can be done to achieve that.  (I know everyone wants it.)

I think it's fine as it is...
